Our History
Four decades on the same land
Green Meadow Farm was founded in 1978 on a parcel of Dutchess County farmland that had been worked since the late nineteenth century. The original dairy barn — its hand-hewn beams and fieldstone foundation still intact — was carefully converted into the first thoroughbred stable in 1982.
Over the following decades, the farm grew with intention: a second barn in 1991, the covered arena in 2004, the rehabilitation paddocks and equine pool in 2014. Every addition was built to match the character of the original structures — dark oak, brass hardware, and the same Hudson Valley stone.
Today, three generations of the founding family remain on the land. The horses that come to us are cared for the way they always have been here — patiently, thoroughly, and with the long view in mind.

The Land
Boundless trails, west-facing sunsets
Trails weave through dappled woods, open pastureland, and up to a west-facing hilltop that catches every last ray of the setting sun. Historic barns and the restored loft residences sit lightly in the landscape, keeping the farm itself front and center.
