Layups from Finger Lakes Racetrack
A four-hour ship from the Finger Lakes backside, Green Meadow Farm provides upstate trainers with full-care layups, rehab, and quiet retirement boarding in Dutchess County.
Finger Lakes horses come down for the off-season (the meet closes in mid-November and doesn't reopen until April) and for longer rehab stays when the on-track option isn't the right fit. We have rehab paddocks, an equine pool, cold saltwater spa, and the steady, attentive daily care that brings a horse back right.
The drive is straightforward — I-90 east to the Taconic south. We coordinate direct vans through the carriers that regularly run the upstate-to-Hudson-Valley corridor, and provide weekly written progress reports with photos.
For retiring Finger Lakes veterans, we've placed a number of them into our permanent retirement program over the years — quiet fields, small compatible herds, and end-of-life care handled with dignity.
